Kai Sheng, founder of AKAIA Architecture, has over 30 years of architectural experience in the United States and China. He was a former partner with BBG Architects in New York and established the Archilier Architecture (AA) brand over 12 years starting in 2010. In 2022, he launched AKAIA Architecture with a continued focus on pursuing creative and unique solutions for each project in an environment that nurtures talent and authenticity. Kai leads the AKAIA team in a broad design practice ranging from hospitality and commercial mixed-use developments to green design and large-scale master planning. He is a LEED-accredited professional, serves as Trustee of the New York chapter of CTBUH and has frequently presented at design conferences in Asia and the U.S. Kai graduated from Tianjin University with a bachelor’s degree in architecture and from City College of New York with BArch and Master’s Degree in Urban Planning.
